Thanks to all the teams that entered this years event.
We wish to thank all our sponsors, the Timaru District Council (for preparing the Traffic Management Plan), Fulton Hogan (setting out all the signs & cones), Graham Shears (travelling the course to ensure all marshals are present), Craig Brown (for doing the entries & results), Walter & Heather Hume (marking the course & preparing the race book) and Peter Trainor, Pauline Dore & David Gardner for help at the start & the results
Special thanks to all the local clubs that supplied marshals & timekeepers, Timaru Christian School & Timaru North Swim Club for helping with the marshalling on laps 1 & 8
The A Grade was won by New Brighton No.1, with a great battle going on for 2nd & 3rd place between the two Universiy of Canterbury teams
The B Grade was narrowly won by just 24 seconds by Timaru No.1, whose last lap runner took the lead from Christchurch Avon just 1km before the finish line
The C Grade was also a narrow win (by 50 seconds) for the 3rd University of Canterbury team running down 4 teams on the last lap to claim 1st place in the grade. Olympic held on for 2nd place with Waimate Toc H coming through for 3rd place
One record was set on the day, Alex Williams (University of Canterbury) breaking her own record on lap 2 with a new time of 31:14
